I Bring People Their Coffee

We had people in for training this week at VanDamme. Doug needed a hit of caffeine at about 2:30 in the afternoon and sent me this email:

Subject: Any chance I can get some more of that espresso?
While the risk of it causing the garbage plate to be released from my bowls [sic], I MUST have […]

Windows Zero Day Exploit

Wonderful. Another zero-day exploit for we Windows users. Makes my previous post about Apple so much sweeter. I can’t wait to go home to my Powerbook

Happy Birthday Apple Computer!

Apple Computer is having a birthday on April 1st! This is no April fools joke. Apple Computer is going to be 30 years old! There are a lot of people out there doing something special for Steve Jobs to thank him for his contribution to computing. I’ve seen a few sites pop up such as […]

Google Page Creator

Google came out with a web page creator a few weeks ago but after the first few thousand people signed up a waiting list started. I, of course, signed up as soon as I could not because I really need another website but just because I wanted to play with something new. This morning my […]

St. Patricks Day

I took the day off today to work on my graduate project and hang out with Joe. Stayed up late, didn’t sleep in and just had a bowl of really tasty oatmeal. Ahhh, yes, now this is vacation!

Instantaneous Gratification

I saw this advertised on another site and could not resist clicking it. Because, really, 2 seconds is 1.9 seconds too long! This web application creates a cache of registered domains and searches them really quickly. It’s neat. Here’s a free plug for this service which is donation-ware (so no ads). Check it out!

HTML Color Code Picker

I find myself often wanting to get the HTML (hex) color code for something. I’ve memorized most of the basic colors using the #RRGGBB format but some of the finer and nicer colors still escape me. There’s a program that I just installed called ColorPic which does a great job of getting color codes and […]

More Suing of Google

John Battelle wrote a book about Google called The Search. Google indexed the book through their Google Book Search service. Now, the publisher is suing Google over it. Battelle does not want to sue Google over his book about them but his publisher (Penguin) is relentless. What the heck? I realize that Penguin is suing […]

Create .htaccess In Windows

Have you ever tried to create a .htaccess file from Windows? Well, Windows does not like file names that start with a period. Yes, I know that I should be using my PowerBook but it’s kind of sick right now (my own fault, different story). Anyway, there’s the trick:
1. Open Notepad
2. Type your .htaccess file […]
