McDonalds
I can’t even remember the last time that I ate at McDonalds… but this is interesting:
McDonald’s Corp. customers will soon know that the Big Mac they bought contains almost half their recommended daily fat intake just by looking at the wrapper.
In its latest measure to fend off critics that blame the world’s largest restaurant company for contributing to rising incidents of obesity and other health problems, McDonald’s on Tuesday said it will start printing nutritional information on the packaging of its food. [reuters.com]
Maybe if people can see how horrible certain foods are for them then they’ll be more health conscious? Wait, probably not. People eat crap every day that has the fat and caloric intake stamped right on the package. Why should fast food be any different?
My gripe with people eating terrible foods (health-wise) like this is that they drive my health insurance costs up. I wish my health insurance would be cheaper because I go to the gym regularly and don’t eat fast food. Alas, I have to pay the premium as the fat guy who eats fast food every day.

If you don’t like fast food … don’t eat it. No one is forced to eat McDonalds food. Its a choice.

RenĂ©, go to Caley’s house.
Caley, good point!
Michael, you’re right. I don’t!
Adam, damn, that sucks. At least alcohol is a conscious decision though. Children that eat at McDonalds probably don’t know it’s bad for them. Maybe they’ll ask what the wrappers say and mean now or maybe they’ll just keep eating french fries.
