Christian Web Hosting
I wonder if my blog would quality for Christian Web Hosting?
Won’t you lose a lot of business with such content policies?
Yes, we are sure that there is a huge section of the hosting market that we will lose out on. But, we believe that doing God’s work is far more important than making a buck.
It seems like you’re using God and Jesus to make a buck to me. More and more lately, I’ve seen services “approved by God.” Is this a new trend in marketing?
I searched for “christian web hosting” and found these sites:
1. http://www.gracenet.org
2. http://christianwebhost.com
3. http://www.hostingchristians.com
Then I searched for “muslim web hosting” and found these sites:
1. http://muslimhosting.net
2. http://www.muslimtents.com
3. http://www.jeeran.com
Then I searched for “buddhist web hosting,” “hinduism web hosting,” “greek orthodox web hosting,” “jewish web hosting” and didn’t find any hosting companies. I could have searched for more religious hosting outfits but I have other things to do. However, I did find that you can join the Jedi religous movement. (From a Wired.com article
)
This is my favorite part of the Terms of Service:
In the event eChristianWebhosting terminates the Agreement for Customer’s breach of the Agreement in accordance with Section 9 (Termination), or Customer terminates the service other than in accordance with Section 9 (Termination) for eChristianWebhosting’s breach, the unpaid fees for each billing cycle remaining in the Initial Term or then-current Renewal Term, as applicable, are due on the business day following termination of the Agreement.
What does that mean? Oh it means, according to section 9, that if eChristianWebHosting.com feels that God doesn’t approve of your website then your service will be terminated and you have to pay the remainder of your contact.
It is time for Christians to stand up for what is right. One way we can do that is to vote with our wallets and not contribute to businesses that promote unhealthy material.
Note, unhealthy material includes: abortion views, bikinis, new age values and homosexuality.
